July 2008 Update

To Members of P & Cs of Wide Bay-Burnett

Dear All,

The next regional conference and AGM will be held in Gympie on 19th & 20th July. Cost is only $20 per delegate. Please register soon. Forms are available on this web-site. The sessions on bullying and tuckshop operations are expected to give very useful information. There will also be opportunities to discuss other topics. Accommodation assistance is available to those who must travel further than 100km one way.

Corporate Express has very generously donated a photocopier as a door prize for this conference.
Some lucky P & C will gain much more than information from their attendance!

The AGM will see the election of members of the Wide Bay Regional Management Committee; being the executive committee of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and state executive member plus further members to bring the management committee membership to 12. This group plans regional conferences and workshops and liaises with state QCPCA and Education Queensland District offices on behalf of P & Cs. Interested P & C delegates are invited to nominate for a position on the regional management committee.

12th, 13th & 14th September – our region will host the QCPCA State Conference and AGM at the Showgrounds Pavilion in Gympie. This is organised by State Office with assistance from our committee.

Information about the area / schools the region covers

The region covers the Wide Bay-Burnett area from Rosedale to Gympie, inland to Monto & Mundubbera and south as far as Blackbutt.
Our region consists of 142 schools in 3 Education Queensland Districts: Wide Bay North, Wide Bay South and Wide Bay West.
Schools within the region are very diverse; from isolated one-teacher schools to large city schools with enrolments of more than 1500.
