Food Act 2006

State Schools are not bound by the Food Act 2006, however there are Equivalent Administrative Arrangements being developed that may require them to achieve similar levels of compliance as part of their duty of care to ensure the provision of safe food to the public.

State Schools will be informed of any requirements that result from these arrangements' once developed.

Food Safety Supervisor training is therefore not compulsory at this time for State Schools.

You will find information in Policies and Procedures section of the QAST web site www.qast.org.au

Documents a Principal Should Keep Safe

Ensure the Principal has the following for safekeeping:

  • Current Approved P&C Constitution
  • Copy of ITEC letter

Also the school should provide an area for archiving of P&C information and old records.
