
Operating a School Age Care service for P & C Associations
Brief: The Queensland Children's Activities Network (QCAN) Inc is the Peak body for School Age Care services throughout Queensland. QCAN is an independent, not for profit association governed by a board of experienced OSHC Professionals.
The QCAN ideal is supporting and promoting quality school age care services through advocacy, resourcing, training and expert advice.
Session Overview:
The session will cover various aspects essential for P&C Associations who are the sponsor and licensee for School Age Care services. Content will include:
- Governance and Management - What is the difference?
- The role of the Coordinator in managing the operations of the OSHC service.
- Managing risk and reporting mechanisms.
- Financial Planning.
- Human Resource Management including Performance.
- Development a Governance/Management manual as a resource for the management committee and risk strategy.
- Strategic Planning - the future of the OSHC business.
The session will run over three hours from 6.30pm-9pm throughout Term 2, 2010. A light supper, tea and coffee will be provided.
Participant registration fees are $66 for members with a maximum of $198 per service. P & C Associations are encouraged to send as many participants from the management committee, executive and Senior members of Staff.
